I CALL TO ORDER

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board was called to order at 9:30 am in the Union Conference Room on the third (3rd) floor at 124 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey

II OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT

The statement required by Chapter 231, public laws of 1975, the "Open Public Meetings Act," was read and it was announced that notice of this meeting was prepared in the office of the Board of Architects and mailed to the Secretary of State, the Newark Star-Ledger, the Trenton Times, the Camden Courier-Post, the Record and the Atlantic City Press.

III APPROVAL OF MINUTES

January 24, 2008

ACTION: Mr. Horii motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. DeMassi seconded the motion. It was unanimously approved.

IV ANNOUNCEMENTS

Executive Director Hsu announced the following:

—Update on the Interior Design Committee's progress concerning applications:
— Total number of applications reviewed by the Interior Design Committee is 657 {575 grandfather & 82 initial applications}
— Total number of Certified Interior Designers to date is 319 {295 grandfather & 24 initial applications}
— Total number of applications which have been approved but not yet certified is 57 {42 grandfather & 15 initial applications}
—Total number of applications still pending (waiting for information to be submitted by applicants) is 281 {238 grandfather & 43 initial applications}
—Total number of applications still incomplete to date is 81 {70 grandfather & 11 initial applications}
—Joshi Kishor is not here today due to a family wedding in India
—DAG Kay Ehrenkrantz will be here at 10:30am to discuss ITEM NO. 32709

Mr. Kniesler announced that he recently attended the NJ ASLA meeting. Approximately 600 individuals attended the meeting. He will be attending the CLARB Regional meeting. The Landscape Architect legislation issue was raised and it appears the bill will be re-introduced this coming legislative session.

Mr. DeMassi will be attending the NCARB Joint Region II & V on April 4, 5 and 6, 2008 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Zaccone announced that he received an email from Ken Schwartz from Virginia and who is running for chair of Region 2 and asking the New Jersey Board´s for support at the National meeting.

1 NCARB Fast Facts dated January 31, 2008 with information on various NCARB committees and surveys is attached for board´s information.

ACTION: Duly noted.

2 NCARB News Clips dated January 31, 2008 announcing NCARB´s Latest Monograph Sustainable Design II is attached for board´s information.

ACTION: Duly noted.

3 A3623 which establishes certificate of rehabilitation for certain persons with criminal records is attached for board´s information.

ACTION: Duly noted.

B Interior Design Examination and Evaluation Committee

January 9, 2008 minutes

ACTION: Mr. DeMassi motioned to approve the Interior Design Committee minutes as presented. Mr. Horii seconded the motion. It was unanimously approved.

VII REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS

ACTION: Mr. DeMassi motioned to approve the above individuals to take the ARE. Mr. Horii seconded the motion. It was unanimously approved.

C Licensure by Examination

The following applicant/s have completed all Divisions of the Architectural Registration Examination and are submitted to the Board for licensure:

ACTION: Mr. DeMassi motioned to approve the above individuals for licensure inasmuch as they have met all requirements for licensure. Mr. Horii seconded the motion. It was unanimously approved.

Seeing no one present from the public, Mr. Zaccone proceeded to the next item on the agenda.

IX EXECUTIVE SESSION

At 10am, Mr. DeMassi motioned to go into executive session for the purposes of reviewing the executive session minutes and disciplinary items on the agenda. Mr. Horii seconded the motion. It was unanimously approved.
