E. Correspondence from Cindy Packevicz
Re: New Jersey Court Reporting Certification

Cindy Packevicz, has been residing in Florida and has been working as a Court Reporter since 1985. The State of Florida has no requirements to work as a Court Reporter, except that one is a notary. Ms. Packevicz passed the RPR in 1995. Recently, Ms. Packevicz has relocated to New Jersey and was inquiring about New Jersey ‘s requirements to be a Court reporter. Executive Director Dianne l. Tamaroglio advised her that she would have had to pass the RPR no earlier than May 1, 2006 to become Certified as a Court Reporter. Ms. Packevicz has written to the Board requesting an exception to the Board’s regulations. The Board will advise Ms. Packevicz that while the Board is sympathetic to her issues, it does not have the statutory authority to waive the examination requirement nor do we have reciprocity with other states. Therefore, her request is denied.
