Licensure of Massage and Bodywork Therapists

On January 13, 2008, Governor Jon S. Corzine signed the "Massage and Bodywork Therapist Licensing Act" into law.

This new law IS NOT YET IN EFFECT.

The Governor will appoint members to a new licensing board, the “New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy.”

The “Massage and Bodywork Therapist Licensing Act” states that the licensing requirements of the new law “shall not become effective until such time as the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy, established pursuant to section 14 of this act, shall adopt rules regulating the practice of massage and bodywork therapies.”

Please check this web site for updates on the Board’s progress in adopting the new rules and for the date when these rules will take effect.
