Proposed Regulation – State Board of Court Reporting

NEWARK – The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to the regulations the examination for certification as a realtime court reporter.

The proposed amendments make the exam developed and issued by the National Court Reporters Association the official exam of the State for certification as a realtime court reporter. The exam created by the Board will no longer be issued. In addition, regulations addressing the administration and grading of the Board-based exam are repealed since that exam will no longer be offered. However, certification will still be allowed for those who have already successfully completed the Board exam.

The proposed regulation, and information on how to submit a comment by October 28, 2016, can be viewed here.

Follow the Division of Consumer Affairs on its website.
